In Art Exploration + Day Camp, campers will explore a variety of art mediums during the week of ocean themed art. Campers will spend half the day in the art studio and the other half participating in day camp activities. These art students will learn about color theory, the value scale and do a painting and printmaking project. We will learn about Art History and look at examples of famous paintings and artwork about the ocean. They will look at a variety of artwork for inspiration including work by Winslow Homer, Katsushika Hokusai, and Claude Monet.
Monday: Art History, observational drawing, color theory
Tuesday: Color mixing, Acrylic Painting day 1
Wednesday: Acrylic painting day 2
Thursday: Printmaking: designing and carving the block prints

We strive to have a balance of ages, and a mix of boys and girls, in the camp. This impacts the number of spaces available for a given age or gender in the camp.
