Programming and Robotics – Entering Grades 4 – 7

Many children aren’t just fascinated with discovering how things work, they want to build them as well. Using many tools available to help campers transition from graphical programming (like Scratch or Tickle) to more challenging text programming, this program helps familiarize the young and curious with the Arduino platform.

We also give campers an understanding of how to use SparkFun’s Digital Sandbox and Inventor Kits, as well as the mBot Robot. With these powerful tools, campers explore microcontrollers, sensors, circuitry, prototyping and associated tools, which they can put to use in their summer and future projects.

My son was over the moon about all he was able to learn and explore during his camp. There was a nice balance of structure and exploration. The experience was confidence building and inspiring.- Parent of 5th grader
Intro to Arduino offered Lucas an opportunity to dig below the surface of an interest. The class sparked a passion for him to design and create various electronics projects whenever he has a spare minute.- Parent of 4th grader
