Programming Update for Summer 2021

We are planning to run our typical camp program with modifications as needed. Please see below for the modifications to programs we are planning for at this time. We keep this section current with our up-to-date program plans.

Plus Camps

Plus camps will likely be modified so that campers will stay together as a group for the full day rather than mixing into Day Camp groups before or after the Plus program.

The following is a list of Plus Camps being offered this summer:

  • Innovation + Day Camp
  • Makerspace + Day Camp
  • Theatre + Day Camp
  • Broadway + Day Camp
  • Tennis + Day Camp

Teen Program

Our Teen Trippers program expanding to be for campers entering grades 8 and 9. It will likely be an on-campus program. These campers will have a daily schedule of exciting and beloved camp activities. If possible, we will adjust the program to include 2-3 off-campus trips each week. There will be an additional trip fee of no more than $100 per week if and only if trips are added to the program.

Extended Day

We plan to offer our Extended Day option for summer 2021, and families can select it through the camper application. Guidelines may make it necessary for us to modify this program, including the possibility that we cannot offer it. We are asking families to make alternate plans in the event we cannot offer Extended Day.

Safety and Facility Preparedness

Being part of Fessenden has always afforded us wonderful facilities and resources to offer excellent camp programming. These facilities and resources of Fessenden are more important now than ever, and having them gives us great confidence as we prepare for in-person programming this summer.

Facility Experience

The school is operating in-person and has been since the beginning of the school year, which provides valuable experience operating during the pandemic much of which we will be able to use for camp this summer, including:

  • The implementation of daily screening technology.
  • A fully staffed health center with contact tracing experience and a facility with separate quarantine and isolation spaces.
  • Signage for good safety practices and controlled traffic flow within buildings.
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols during and after the day.

Facility Advantages

We have many versatile indoor and outdoor spaces that we can use for programming this summer.

  • We plan to use tents to maximize the flexible use of our outdoor spaces.
  • The indoor spaces that we use all have either HVAC systems that have been programmed to maximize the amount of fresh air intake possible or HEPA air filtration units. All spaces have been equipped with MERV-rated filters and all classrooms have operable windows that are kept open as much as possible to bring in fresh air.
  • No-touch water bottle filling stations are located throughout our campus.
  •  245 hand sanitizer stations have been installed on the campus. These are in addition to all the existing bathrooms and allow for hand hygiene throughout our campus.
