Because Fessenden serves Pre-K through 9th grade during the school year, everything on campus is built to serve children as young as three and as old as fifteen. All of our campers are able to explore every fun activity they can imagine, whether it’s playing their favorite sport in our athletic center, acting on stage at our arts center, perfecting their swim strokes in our outdoor pools, or building something cool in our cutting-edge Center for Innovation.
State-of-the-art facilities built for play and learning
- Two outdoor swimming pools
One pool has a depth of 3 – 4.5 feet, which is ideal for younger children and first-time swimmers. Our 25-yard pool has a 3.5- foot teaching area, and a maximum depth of 9 feet, which is great for more experienced swimmers to swim, jump and dive.
- Athletic facilities
Campers have access to eight grass playing fields, two state-of-the-art turf fields, and ten tennis courts. The turf fields use organic infill, which is safe for children and environmentally friendly. Plus, these fields don’t get hot in the summer like traditional turf fields, providing a more comfortable experience. The fields and tennis courts are lit, so our English Explorers campers can use them at night. Our athletic center offers three full-sized basketball courts and an exercise room with weights and other exercise equipment.
- Arts facilities
Our arts center features a large stage with the latest technology and theater lighting, as well as seating for more than 250 guests. The center also has a woodshop with hand and power tools, a digital photography lab, a ceramics studio with a kiln, and three art studios to inspire children’s imagination.
- Brand new, state-of-the-art Center for Innovation
This cutting-edge space is equipped with robotics equipment, digital music production equipment, 3-D printers, microcomputers, and laser and vinyl cutters, allowing children to create whatever they can dream up.
- Two playgrounds
One of our playgrounds has traditional climbing structures, while the other is designed as a natural play space to inspire creative and collaborative play.
- Modern classrooms
Our classrooms include Wi-Fi, projectors and Smart Boards. We also have labs for science-focused activities. Plus, much of the school is air-conditioned for the children’s comfort.
- Community vegetable garden and chicken coop
The community garden and chicken coop provide an opportunity for campers to help care for our natural resources and learn about sustainability.
