Makerspace Camp

Makerspace Camp

At our Makerspace Camp, campers are exposed to hands-on problem solving through a great range of tools, machines, technology, possibilities, and instructor encouragement. They gain familiarity with maker concepts such as programming, robotics, engineering, multimedia, and design. Campers who already have knowledge in these areas can advance to the next level by developing unique solutions to open-ended challenges.

Each camper will work through the processes of design and production under the guidance of experienced instructors in the Ciongoli Center for Innovation. By gaining exposure to cornerstone principles in 21st century craftsmanship, campers can fluidly move from creating a digital prototype to designing a project using 3D printers, laser cutters, and an array of tools and materials. Campers are encouraged to utilize their critical thinking skills, while also collaborating on projects with other campers who have similar interests. By working together, campers can answer important questions, solve problems, or invent something entirely new.

Meet the Makerspace Director

Adam Dinjian Makerspace Camp Director 4 Years at Fessenden

This summer will be Adam’s fourth year working at Fessenden, and his first year working as a specialist. Adam has been part of the Fessy Community since he was a camper himself. He thoroughly enjoys the memories he has made at Fessy and he hopes to inspire and lead other campers to have the same great experience he had. Adam is currently studying undergraduate at Connecticut College in New London, and is planning on double majoring in Art and Philosophy. He has a passion for all things art and creativity.

My Hobbies are..

I am an artist and I love everything about photography. I also have a passion for all things creating and I spend lots of time tinkering and playing with various electronics, machines, and appliances and repairing them. I also love spending time outdoors, whether it's camping with friends or family or traveling and backpacking through the wilderness. I also work as a barista in a nearby cafe, and I will always talk too much if asked anything about coffee.

My Favorite Camp Activity is..

On a hot day there’s nothing better than being able to jump into the pool, but on any other day I always love to spend time in art and crafts, or woodworking, or in the Makerspace Creating!
