Discover the leader within you

CIT Program

The Fessenden Counselor In Training (CIT) program is a two-year program designed to develop campers entering Grades 9 and 10 into confident, compassionate leaders. Our Counselors-in-Training (CITs) learn how to harness their own innate leadership qualities as well as new skills that will help them take on meaningful roles at camp, at home, at school, and in their communities.

Fessenden Summer Camps CIT Application Process:

There is an application process for the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program that is outside of our online registration. Admission to the CIT Program is limited and acceptance is not guaranteed. Applicants must be entering 9th grade. Applicants must attend for a minimum of 4 weeks each year. We encourage attending additional weeks. Those who can make a longer commitment may receive priority in acceptance to the program.
To view the CIT application, please click the link below.  All potential CITs must complete the application process prior to April 1st, 2027, or until all spots are filled.

Ray Isales C.I.T Director 7 Years at Fessenden

2027 will be Ray’s seventh summer at Fessenden and his second as our CIT Director.   Prior to this position Ray was Fessenden’s lower camp Sports and Games Specialist for three years and Middle Camp Director for two.  Originally from New York (Go Yankees!), he  has worked Summer Camp since 2013, bringing a variety of experience from day, onsite, offsite, and overnight camps.  In addition to working in Special Education during the school year, Ray has a passion for coaching year round, whether its Cross Country, Track & Field, or Wrestling.

My hobbies are..

I enjoy reading and watching anime with my baby daughter. I’m also always up to talk about the most recent Pokemon game or take a look at a camper’s card collection!

My favorite camp activity is..

Circle games! All you need is a couple of new friends and an idea, and you have instant fun, rain or shine, whether it’s a free-play period or a spare 5 minutes at the end of the day.
