Fessenden Summer Camps

Broadway + Day Camp – Entering Grades 5-7

In Broadway + Day Camp, campers will delve into improvisation, scene study, and stage combat.  They will be coached by a highly-experienced teacher and director as they work to develop their acting and singing skills.  During this two-week program, campers will collaborate on many aspects of production, including designing a set and costumes.  The performance will be a popular musical with familiar and fun songs.  The program culminates in a final performance in our brand-new Class of 1985 Auditorium where they show off their talent and hard work to family and friends.

We strive to have a balance of ages, and a mix of boys and girls, in the camp.  This impacts the number of spaces available for a given age or gender in the camp.

Features of Broadway + Day Camp include:

  • Morning activities with their Day Camp group
  • Swim lessons provided by our Red Cross certified instructors
  • Character study and development
  • Instruction in choreography
  • Focus on all aspects of production, both on- and off-stage
  • A culminating performance where every camper plays a part

My favorite musical is…

Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

In my free time…

I enjoy reading plays and novels, watching movies, playing guitar, and playing with my dog.

What I love about teaching theatre is…

Everything.  I love working with children and giving them a chance to experience theatre.  I would like for them to fall in love with this art form.
