Theatre + Day Camp – Entering Grades 1-4

The Theatre Camp is a plus camp giving campers the opportunity to have a fun-filled morning with their Day Camp group followed by an afternoon of theatre programming. Theatre + Day Camp encourages campers to explore their creativity through theatre games and improvisation.  They will learn acting and singing skills, taught by a highly-experienced teacher and director, in a fun and safe environment.  The campers will perform in a musical featuring fun and familiar songs. The week culminates in a final performance in our brand-new Class of 1985 Auditorium where they show off their talent and hard work to family and friends.

We strive to have a balance of ages, and a mix of boys and girls, in the camp.  This impacts the number of spaces available for a given age or gender in the camp.

Features of the Theatre + Day Camp include:

  • Morning activities with their Day Camp group
  • Swim lessons provided by our Red Cross certified instructors
  • Improvisation games and role-playing to develop acting skills
  • Script writing, costume design, set building, and prop creation
  • A final stage production where every camper plays a part

My favorite musical is…

Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

In my free time…

I enjoy reading plays and novels, watching movies, playing guitar, and playing with my dog.

What I love about teaching theatre is…

Everything.  I love working with children and giving them a chance to experience theatre.  I would like for them to fall in love with this art form.
