Project-Based and Passion-Based

Specialty Camps

Fessenden Summer Specialty Camps give campers the opportunity to explore the worlds of STEM, science, mixed media art and performance in a fun, camp environment using Fessenden’s state-of-the-art facilities.

Fessenden Summer Camps offers many specialty camps throughout the summer. These
camps are classified in two ways:

Full Day Specialty

Campers spend most of their day in the specialty camp of their choice. However, campers will have daily free swim, outdoor lunch and some time for free play outside.  These camps will be denoted as Full Day in the description section.

Specialty + Day Camp

We call these programs our “Plus Camps”. Campers spend half the day participating in the specialty camp of their choice, and the other half participating in traditional day camp activities like free swim, arts and crafts, sports, etc. These camps will be denoted as “+Camp” in the description section.

Fessenden Summer Camps Coding

Our STEAM camps take place in the Ciongoli Center for Innovation. This open-concept studio is a venue for coding, tinkering, building, and problem-solving. Our state-of-the-art resources allow campers to develop fundamental and technical skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, as well as essential 21st century skills such as creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Our Theatre, Broadway and Theater Arts camps take place in the brand-new Class of 1985 Auditorium, which is part of the William R. Elfers ’63 Center for the Arts. This magnificent theater offers tiered seats and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems. The possibilities are endless as campers take to the stage to explore roles, sing, dance, and, most importantly, gain confidence. Working collaboratively, campers will write a script, design a set, and acquire knowledge in all aspects of stage performance — all while sharing smiles with new friends.

Krystina is excited to join the Fessenden Summer Camps team for her first summer as the new Specialty Camp Director. With over a decade of camp experience, she brings a warm, enthusiastic presence and a genuine passion for helping children feel confident, curious, and excited to try new things. During the school year, Krystina is a kindergarten teacher in Middleboro, MA, where her creativity, positivity, and love for early childhood education shine every day. She is looking forward to bringing that same energy to Fessenden as she supports the Specialty Camp program and helps create engaging, memorable experiences for campers and staff.

My hobbies are..

Reading, anything Taylor Swift related (I've seen her in concert 7 times!), and dancing (I've done dance since I was 4 and still take adult classes at the same studio with the same dance teacher!)

My favorite thing about camp is..

Creating lifelong friendships, some of my best friends have been made at camp! I also love making friendship bracelets for myself and others. It becomes a competition on how full my wrists get!
